Brick fence post repair/reinforcement

A repair was made to a damaged brick fence/letterbox at a driveway entrance. The bricks had been broken along a line at about ground level with one brick coarse remaining on the underground foundation. An 8mm thick piece of flat fibre composite material was bonded to span across the break line on front and back sides. The large area of glue, combined with the strength, corrosion and termite resistance of the composite material makes for a permanent repair, without requiring a bricklayer or special trade skills. Screw-bolts were used to clamp the material in place and compress to glue thus creating a desirable squeeze-out as evidence of good coverage.
